Fairy Tale Time: Puss in Boots

"Diablo Gato, The Furry Lover, Chupa Cabra, Frisky Two Times and then The Gingerbread man. But to most I am Puss in Boots, the outlaw!" - Puss in Boots (the movie)

Do you remember the frisky, and sometimes sweet, kitty cat whom we all know as Puss in Boots? I read Puss in Boots by Charles Perrault expecting it to be different from the original movie. While reading it I realized that the story and the movie were almost nothing alike. Yes, the cat wore boots but the plot was totally different. There was no Humpty Dumpty, no Mother Goose who lays golden eggs, no Kitty Soft paws. Dreamworks Animation changed so much that I don't even know how they came up with it. It was as if they took Puss and created an entirely different story line. I enjoyed the story but it is not my personal favorite, to be honest.

What do you think the moral of the story was? I had a hard time figuring out, and as of now I dont see one. 

Do you think Puss should have lied to the king by having people tell him that all that land was the Miller's son? Or what about how the son went by a made up name and deceived the king and princess?
